Often moving points is insufficient when we wish to alter a path. The user must add or delete certain points. To achieve this select the pen plus and the pen minus to add and delete points were required. For speed and ease of use the digital artist can achieve this automatically by selecting ‘Auto Add / Delete’ button in the pen options bar. Clicking on a point free area on the path will add a point, clicking on an existing point will remove it.
Disney has made no official statement, and it’s not unusual for plans to be laid out, only to be rejected or scrapped. With the economy in a slump, they might be reluctant to make a major outlay until there are sold signs of a turnaround. But on the flipside, Universal Orlando Resort will be opening its new Harry Potter section at Islands of Adventure in 2010 (click here to see the digital painting and click here to see some of the buildings under construction). A spruced-up Fantasyland could help lure young princess fans as the Wizarding World pulls in young wizards at its crosstown rival resort.
By 2003, progress on the game had stalled: only 18 people were working full-time on the game. Because 3D Realms had tons of cash, they could essentially tell Take-Two to take a hike as they worked. Eventually though, they ran out of money, and had to go to Take-Two for the funds to complete the game. The publisher was understandably leery, and in May 2009 3D Realms ceased development. Whether or not the game will ever come out is unknown, but after more than a decade of troubled development and high hopes, it deserves its title as king of video game vaporware.
It has great cinematography! Alien adheres to the concept of seeing less is better and more suspenseful and, in this case, it’s true! Everything is dark and foggy. You can’t see what is in the shadows and it’s truly frightening. The shots are fast-paced and clear with perfect lighting — bright or dark when needed.
That was the plan, anyhow, one that Valve has not kept up to. Episode 1 was released in June 2006 (2), but Episode 2 did not ship until October 2007 (3), and Episode 3 has no release date, let alone any more released materials beyond concept artist.
The same premise applies with the video game artist. Before really researching the subject many would be artists think it is just a matter of sitting down and designing a game and then putting it into production and it is ready to play. It does not quite work that way. If it did there would probably be even more games on the market than there already are. Video game artists have such a variety of jobs to do that many of these jobs have somewhat evolved into becoming specialties.
Have an understanding of video games, how they’re played, and what they’re all about. You should have a feel for the game industry; know what games are out there, what styles of play they have, and how they handle the game playing experience. Chances are good that you already fulfill this requirement.
